First off – a confession. We say these are the best caravan parks in the UK, but in reality we’re only just scratching the surface. When it comes to camping and mobile home sites, we like to think nobody does it better than us Brits. From stunning coastal scenes, to mountains or forests – we’ve got it all (well, perhaps bar the weather…).Here are a few of the most famous views from across UK parks. What are your favourite?
Grange Farm – Isle of Wight
Ever dreamed of a stunning coastal scene with views, lush grass and…alpaca (obvious addition!)? Famed for its unusual collection of farm animals including the furry llama lookalikes, micro-pigs and water buffalo, Grange Farm is situated within “an area of outstanding beauty” and allows caravans and touring vans to pitch up.
Access to the sea is just 100 yards down a coastal path, with free use of showers and shaver points, and coin-operated baths, washing machines and dishwashers. Slots are available with electric hook-up and even your (well-behaved) furry friends are welcome – meaning the whole family can soak in the views without compromising on luxury.
Rothiemurchus – Scottish Highlands
From coastal climes to somewhere with “everything except the sea” (their own words), Rothiemurchus is famed for its high mountains, lochs and ancient forest. The site is an absolute must-see for fans of walking and those who love nature – there’s 125 species of birds as well as wild deer and world-famous Highland cows.
Located in the UK’s largest national park, there’s some of the best forest and mountain views our lovely isles have to offer and the site itself has been recommended by Rough Guide as one of the UK’s best sites for camping. It boasts a large amenity building with toilets, showers, dishwashing facilities and a laundrette – perfect to keep everything nice and clean after a long day exploring the natural beauty.
Rivendale – Peak District
Who says you have to go far for a view? In the North West, we’ve got some of the best areas of natural spendour, and just an hour down the road from North Western Caravans in the midst of the Peak District lies Rivendale caravan park and leisure centre.
With over 37 acres’ worth of varying pitch surfaces, the area is famous for its mountain biking, rambling and walking tracks. Each and every pitch comes with 16 amp electrical hook-ups and there are options for fresh water supply and wastewater disposal drains. An added bonus is its lack of lighting at night (bring a torch) meaning you can see the full glory of the night sky from 100 feet above sea level. A must-see view for stargazers!
The UK is your oyster
As we said in our shameless opening disclaimer, this list is hardly scratching the surface when it comes to beautiful parks. We’ve chosen three at varying corners of the UK to give variation, but that’s meant we’ve had to miss out some of our absolute favourites. Keep your eye on the blog for more caravan park selections or feel free to talk to us at any time. Our family business has over 120 years’ experience in the motorhome industry – we like to think there’s hardly anything we don’t know!
